綜合《國會山報》（The Hill）與《半島電視》（Al Jazeera）報導，川普讚揚納坦雅胡是美國對抗伊朗戰爭的盟友，並給予「完全且全面的背書」，「比比·納坦雅胡絕不會讓你失望！」，並強調納坦雅胡「在面對巨大反對，包括來自以色列本身的反對時，一直堅強、勇敢且出色」。川普進一步警告，若以色列選出「錯誤的領導人，也就是比比以外的任何人」，美國將不得不獨自完成這項工作，「而我並不傾向這麼做」。

川普為與納坦雅胡共同在2月28日對伊朗發動戰爭的決定，稱伊朗已被「系統性地摧毀，無論在軍事上或財務上」，並警告若伊朗不迅速改變，美方將很快「完成這項工作」。川普向白宮信任的媒體《Axios》表示，他始終打算為納坦雅胡背書，「只是不想太早做」，並強調「以色列需要一個可以依靠的人」。
這項背書扭轉了川普本月稍早的態度。他在接受《時代》（Time）雜誌採訪時，多次被問及納坦雅胡的表現卻迴避表態。兩人自2025年1月以來已會面近10次，但在對伊朗戰爭及黎巴嫩衝突上曾出現分歧；川普曾在6月承認，在一通電話中因以色列對黎巴嫩的攻擊而稱納坦雅胡「他媽的瘋了」（f***ing crazy），並要求對方不要進一步行動，以維持與伊朗的短暫停火。
這場戰爭已削弱川普的國內支持，皮尤研究中心（Pew Research Center）民調顯示約三分之二美國選民不贊成他的處理方式，燃油價格上漲與軍備消耗也引發憂慮。共和黨正面臨11月3日的關鍵期中選舉。

納坦雅胡隨後在社群媒體發布影片表達感謝，稱「我非常榮幸且謙卑地接受你的非凡背書」，並強調「白宮從未有過比這更偉大的以色列朋友」。他還讚揚川普沒有因對伊朗戰爭的內部批評而退縮，並直接向美國選民喊話，試圖為共和黨在生活成本上升的質疑中提供支持。
納坦雅胡說道：「讓我對美國人民說：如果你們擔心今天的油價，想想如果伊朗取得核武會發生什麼事，這是川普和我絕不會允許的」。他接著表示：「當那個政權的威脅消失時，油價就會下降，而且是大幅下降。但這只會在川普領導下發生。那些想要遷就並安撫這些暴君的人，不會讓這件事發生」。
分析人士指出，以色列10月27日的選舉競爭激烈。納坦雅胡領導的利庫德黨（Likud）與極右聯盟面臨由「雅沙爾」（Yashar）黨領袖艾森科特（Gadi Eisenkot）領導的反對陣營挑戰，多數民調顯示現有聯盟難以確保組閣所需的61席，選後談判可能更為複雜。
川普的背書雖可能鞏固部分右翼選民，但以色列民眾對美國總統的評價並非一致正面，尤其在對伊朗戰爭引發的區域不穩與經濟代價下，這項表態能否實質扭轉選情仍有待觀察。選舉結果將決定納坦雅胡能否延續其長期執政，或由中間派勢力開啟新局面。
